Biography
| I'm not very attached to any region in Venezuela. I can at least say that I was born in Caracas in January, 1977. Since then I've traveled with my family or myself through many cities in the country. I was born in an average family, not a bohemian one. Still, my parents were interested in stimulating me and my sisters to see that creative solutions to every day problems can make us feel happier. About my early interest to art I’ll just comment about my participation when I was 13 years old in a National Painting Contest which extravagant topic was “Conservationist Bolívar”. I entered the smallest painting,that to my surprise, was selected as the winner. I never thought that Simón Bolívar sitting without his jacket or his sword or any of those things (relaxed) talking with a couple of children in a prairie, with his horse, could win. I gave the painting to the Nuns of the Sacred Heart of Jesus School, in Guanare, (my school at that time). In the end, they were going to take better care of it than me. When it came the college time I chose to study Architecture in Mérida city and I graduated in 1999. My thesis was a project for (of course) a museum. During college, Painting became an activity that was attempting against my time to study because it was inevitable to forget about the rest of the planet with paintbrush and pencil in hand. Architecture gave me, nevertheless, other ways to express myself in different dimensions and has always kept me in the creative field, beyond technical rules. After some years and deciding it’s time to paint again I gathered a group of small paintings and pieces (survivors of many that sold and gave away in college) that are together in this site to show a part of my work. Generally I’m just trying to express some ideas, emotions, moods and messages the best way that I can. References and inspiration I can tell many, incredible plastic artists as well as great masters of architecture and even genialgraphic designers.
